At an information session on 22 May, WTO members were briefed by the WTO Secretariat on the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies and the process for depositing instruments of acceptance with the WTO. They also heard from several members about their ratification experiences. An information session on the WTO Fisheries Funding Mechanism, established to assist developing members and LDCs that have implemented the Agreement, was held the next day. As of 26 May, the WTO has received 99 out of the 111 instruments of acceptance for the Agreement to enter into force, its first multilateral Agreement addressing environmental and economic sustainability.World Trade Organization — Latest news
